How to Manage Oily Skin and High Forehead Shine: The Habits and Products You Will Need
Oily skin is one of those problems that you think is temporary. Once you get through those awkward teenage years, oily skin is going to be a thing of the past.

That’s not always the case though.

For some, oily skin is an issue that persists throughout a significant part of adulthood. Because of it, acne breakouts and other blemishes can remain as facial fixtures. Plus, excess oil can lead to your forehead showing up shiny more often than not.

The good news is that oily skin is not something you just have to live with. The habits and products listed below should make it possible for you to effectively combat your oily skin.

The Habits

Change Up Your Diet

According to Esquire, the food you eat can affect the condition of your skin. What that means is that gorging yourself on greasy food can lead to your skin taking on an oily texture.

Specific examples of food you will want to avoid if you want to reduce the oiliness of your skin are those fatty delights such as burgers and hot dogs. You will also want to steer clear of fried delicacies. If you can’t avoid those foods altogether, at least cut down your consumption of them.

You should also try to minimize your dairy intake if you can if you want less oily skin.

Try to Relax More

Livestrong notes that stress can be another source of excess oil on your skin. Stress out over something, and before you know it, you will have oil pooling on your forehead.

You should obviously avoid getting stressed out regardless of what it does to your skin, but it’s a nice incentive to have nonetheless.

Stay Clean

The best way to keep your skin oil-free is to clean it regularly. This means washing your face regularly.

Get up a bit earlier than you used to so that you have extra time to wash your face. Remember to wash both in the morning and before you go to bed at the end of the day.

It’s also a good idea to wash your hands frequently so that you don’t introduce any extra oils to your face.

The Products

Now that we’ve highlighted the habits you need to adopt in order to address your oily skin, let’s get to the products you must add to your grooming kit.

When it comes to cleansers, Men’s Journal recommends using a product that features salicylic acid. You should limit use of that product to once per day though. For additional cleaning, you will want to use a gentler product.

After cleansing, you should apply some toner. The toner will work to balance your skin in addition to cleaning it further. Alcohol-free toners are best for oily skin.

Moisturizers are absolutely essential for oily skin as well. Try to get oil-free and tinted moisturizers. Those can work wonders on your skin.

Lastly, pick up some blotting papers too. The blotting papers are useful for removing excess oil over the course of the day. Since you can’t spend 10 minutes washing your face whenever it gets oily, those blotting papers should be able to help out a lot.

Oily skin can result in bad photos and ill-timed acne breakouts. To avoid those issues, try picking up the aforementioned habits and products and see how they work for you.
